**Job Summary**:
This position is responsible for the purchasing and planning of incoming packaging materials into each Pure Flavor location as well as determining the movement of materials between facilities to maintain the necessary inventory levels. The Buyer negotiates, conducts cost analyses, and reviews efficiencies on all packaging materials.

**Responsibilties**
- Responsible for planning the purchasing and movement of packaging materials for use in production.
- Ensure supply levels are properly maintained for all required materials to avoid low stock and overstock.
- Ensure materials are available for production in all sites. This includes forecasting needs and inventory levels.
- Independently perform forecast evaluation/analysis in comparison with actual material consumption and make adjustments accordingly.
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Teams to understand new packaging requirements (NPD, Packaging Changes, Customer Changes) and the impacts on required inventory levels.
- Work closely with the Commodities Team to determine pack volume seasonal shifts.
- High focus on customer service.
- Ensure new and existing packaging suppliers provide letters of compliance for food safety.
- Support and implement Supply Chain best practices and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure all activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization.
- Other core expectations as defined by the company.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of three years of previous purchasing experience is required; experience in the produce/agriculture industry is ideal.
- Demonstrated inventory management experience is preferred.
- Dashboard reporting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and the PrimusGFS program is preferred.
- Capacity to engage with suppliers and build relationships to create win-win partnerships are required.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills are essential; results oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow.
- Advanced Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills are required.
- Sound decision making skills and able to work in a high stress environment.
- Understand the need for urgency while providing outstanding customer service.

**Working Conditions**
- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; willingness and ability to travel, must have a valid passport with no restrictions.
- Conditions typically found in an office setting with occasional duties within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation.
- Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods is required.
- The position may involve needing to lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.
