The Team Lead will manage operations such as:

- Surface preparation, including masking, sanding, and conditioning.
- Priming and painting of composite aerospace components.
- Curing and detailing finished parts to meet customer specifications and AS9100 standards.

As a key leader, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer documentation, health and safety regulations, and internal operating procedures while meeting tight production schedules.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead the preparation, painting, and detailing of composite components, ensuring efficient and smooth departmental workflow.
- Plan and prioritize production tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining a cost-effective operation.
- Mentor and train staff on technical processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skills development.
- Support the Operations Manager in completing annual performance reviews and developing personalized training plans for team members.
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and uphold a safe working environment by overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and the spray booth.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous paint materials.
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in painting processes and workflows, always striving for efficiency and quality advancements.
- Manage inventory, including paint supplies, equipment, and related PPE, ensuring all materials are available when needed.
- Facilitate regular cross-departmental meetings to provide updates on paint department activities and share progress towards production goals.
- Participate in and comply with our Medical Surveillance Program as part of our commitment to safety and health.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, embodying the company’s values of fairness, passion, and a forward-thinking approach.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5-10+ years of painting experience with a background in composites manufacturing in aerospace or military defense preferred.
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience, with a focus on team development and process improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of various paint products, including CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) paints, two-part epoxy resins, polyurethanes, isocyanate-, and silica-based paints/primers, and other aerospace-approved materials (Both solvent and water born).
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and disposal in compliance with safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, with a strong understanding of geometric tolerances.
