**About Us**

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Proactively work with our R&D engineers and scientists to identify valuable inventions and technologies for patent filing
- Analysis of prior art for patentability and landscape analysis of state-of-the-art technologies, including organic chemical compounds, materials analysis and nanotechnology
- Work in tandem with OTI’s IP team to formulate a global IP protection strategy for OTI’s growing portfolio of technologies
- Provide support in other IP and legal matters from time to time
- Monitoring, updating and performing work to satisfy OTI’s patent and docketing deadlines
- Work efficiently and effectively with external counsel as required
- Other _ad hoc_ duties as assigned and experience / skill set permit

**Profile**
- Registration as a patent agent (including CIPO/USPTO) is not a requirement, but will be considered an asset, as would having sat for the Canadian Patent Agent Examinations
- Working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial SME environment

**Required Skills**:

- Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment under little supervision
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels
- Attention to detail
- Strong, fast learner, flexible, with strong initiative and can-do spirit
