**Love urgent care, but hate overnights?**

**BayVETS Urgent Care** is a new veterinary urgent care clinic in Collingwood. We are owned by a group of local family veterinarians whose goal is to provide timely outpatient veterinary care after hours to pets in our region.

**What is Urgent Care?**

We will operate as an outpatient clinic addressing conditions such as acute vomiting/diarrhea, lacerations, ear infections, toxin ingestion, porcupine encounters and more. We will be performing surgery in cases deemed appropriate for our setting. We are not offering preventative care such as wellness appointments and vaccinations. For critical care cases that will require 24 hr hospitalization, we will provide direct referrals or assess and stabilize, then facilitate transfer to an appropriate overnight ER or specialty ICU facility.
- Assist veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) with triage, patient restraint, and treatments.
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for urgent cases and work as exam room assistants along with veterinarians
- Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and in-house diagnostic tests.
- Provide compassionate patient care, including monitoring, comforting, and handling hospitalized pets.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas.
- Support client communication, including reviewing discharge instructions and medication administration guidance.
- Stock and organize supplies to maintain a ready-to-respond urgent care environment.
- Assist in handling end-of-life care with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Adhere to all zoonotic and infection control protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

**Positions**

We are offering a flexible work model where **part-time, permanent and relief/occasional**shifts are available for those who may wish to supplement their income.

**Shift Requirements**
- No overnights
- Saturdays, Sundays Stat Holidays 8 am - 8pm
- Weeknights 6pm - 10 pm

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- veterinary assistant: 1 year (required)
