Position Summary
- The cleaner will ensure that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained by performing various cleaning tasks, minor maintenance, and other duties as assigned to maintain a welcoming environment for all staff and visitors.
- Essential Functions
- Clean, dust, and mop floors, corridors, and rooms using the appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Sanitize and dust all surfaces throughout the facility.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Empty all bins, including sanitary, trash, green, and recycling, as needed.
- Wash windows, walls, and glass surfaces as required.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, sanitary products, and paper towels.
- Restock kitchenette areas with dish soap, paper towels, and sponges, and ensure cleanliness.
- Sanitize and clean kitchenette areas and water fountains.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and order replacements, as necessary.

2. Work Environment / Health and Safety
- Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing required to perform the job tasks safely
- Report to their direct report the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective devices of which they are aware, and which may endanger themselves or another worker
- Report to their direct report any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which they know
- Adhere to KCC 5-S program - Clean plant environment
- Minimal exposure to noise
- Fast-paced work environment
- Be aware of all posted warnings and hazards of all surrounding machinery
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 polices and procedures
- No associate shall remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations for workers (the “Green Book”) or by the Company.
- No Associates shall use or operate -any equipment, machine, device, or thing or work in a manner that may endanger themselves or any other worker
- No Associate shall engage in any prank, contest of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct
- All Associates must comply with all Company safety policies and procedures and must adhere to the laws and regulations as stated in the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations for workers.

3. Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cleaner or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
