**You are**
A **_Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC)_**. You will provide a wide range of vocational rehabilitation services that include, but are not limited to, the following: assessment, vocational counselling, planning, resource coordination, and follow-up support to assist participants in achieving their vocational goal with a focus on obtaining and/or returning to gainful employment. The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor works collaboratively with participants to develop an individualized vocational rehabilitation plan. The VRC also works collaboratively with collaterals while maintaining a high standard of professional practice.
**This is a.5 EFT, term position. Term ending October 2026.**
**Your Role**
- Responsible for service coordination to participants which may include all or some of the following: intake, assessment/s, counselling, provision of information, development of an individualized vocational/service plan, advocacy, goal setting, linking to appropriate resources/services and ongoing monitoring and review of the vocational plan.
- Responsible for the delivery of provincial and/or other mandated services to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria, following related program and/or policy manuals and standards.
- Complies with privacy and confidentiality as outlined in professional standards of practice, agency, provincial, federal policies and/or legislation/guidelines.
- Completes administrative, statistical, and other related tasks, within specified timelines.
- Ensures that file recordings are up to date and completed following ISP guidelines.
- Participates in regular supervision/consultation with the Program Manager.
- Works in cooperation with collaterals and maintains a positive profile in community.
- Participates in professional development activities to maintain knowledge of current issues and trends in vocational rehabilitation.
- Participates in staff meetings, special projects and/or on agency committees, as required.
- Completes monthly and annual statistical reporting requirements within specified timelines.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, that fall within the scope of the VRC job description.
**What You Know**
- Bachelor of Social Work Degree or related discipline with 2 - 3 years experience working in a Social Services Agency
- Experience managing a caseload is required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with persons with disabilities, is a definite asset
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Knowledge of ASL is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required
