Led by Janet Dykstra, Office Services Supervisor / HR Support, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, supporting customers for payment and processing, point of sale system operations, general sanitary maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria area and performing custodial duties in the washrooms and office areas.

**Shift available**:
Afternoon Shift: Monday - Friday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm

**Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how**:

- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals as per the weekly menu, including baked goods.
- Assist with handling of cash using a point-of-sale system during break and meal times.
- Replenish pop cooler, chips, napkins, etc.
- Assist with receiving, handling and storing the order for the kitchen following safe food handling guidelines.
- Ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment, handling of materials, and compliance with Home Hardware safety procedures.
- Keep the cafeteria and kitchen clean, ensure equipment and furnishings are in good condition, maintain food quality, follow established standards and other duties as assigned.
- Assist with custodial duties in the washrooms, and office areas.
- Other duties as assigned.

**We’re looking for**:

- Valid Safe Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Familiar with proper sanitary practices of maintenance of kitchen and handling of food.
- Previous experience with food preparation in a kitchen and/or restaurant environment.
- Working knowledge and safe usage of various kitchen appliances such as a fryer, stove, dishwasher, and combi oven.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, competing deadlines.
- Work well in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability to provide coverage on other shifts when needed.
- Experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is an asset.
