**Summary**

This role will work closely with Sales, Operations, and Inventory team as a key member of our Finance Team. In this position, you will be working with the lead financial accountants in one of our three main divisions (Lubricants, Supply Chains Logistics and Ships) as well as assisting with several stream-line improvement projects within the Finance Team. You will be responsible for completing month end processes and maintaining supporting schedules. We encourage cross-training to promote diversity and growth within the company.

**Reporting Structure**

This position reports to: Finance Manager.

Financial reporting team consists of 5-6 key employees.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Financial statement preparation
- Month end adjusting journal entries
- Daily reconciliation and accounting tasks
- Ensure all relevant financial information is entered into the GL on a timely basis.
- Leadership and guidance to Billing, AP, and Sales
- Provide job and operating costing
- Budget preparation
- Providing reconciliations and supporting schedules, investigate variances
- Complete government remittance (Sales tax returns, EHC, Fuel tax)
- Communicate and work directly with manager on year end audit duties
- Liaise with auditors, government, and other stakeholders
- Preparing ad hoc analysis to the Finance and Operations managers

**Qualifications and competencies**

Must have’s:

- Possess a post-secondary education, specializing in accounting or commerce.
- Possess or be on track to get an accounting designation (CPA).
- Possess a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a financial environment.
- Be proficient in Excel, Crystal Reports, SAP, and Microsoft Office 365
- Have experienced with cloud-based accounting
- Strong willingness to learn, driven to succeed, and have fun
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong aptitude for problem solving and creating efficiencies
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands
- Desire to work in a challenging, fast paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Maturity, professionalism, and high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to lead and take initiative
- A drive to produce high-quality work

**Salary**: $14.18-$28.53 per hour
