Inventory and Purchasing Supervisor

We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira Ontario and have supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and in the Northeastern United States.
**Position**: Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor**
**Location**: Colborne, ON.**
**Reports to**: Supply Chain Manager, Manufactured Plastics**
CCC Plastics is seeking a Purchasing Inventory Supervisor at our Colborne location who will be supporting production schedules for manufacturing to meet the shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders while meeting company set goals. Supervises inventory control, purchasing of raw materials, raw materials and finished goods planning with a focus on and meeting KPI’s for product quality, profitability, production efficiency and service. Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with stakeholders on identifying new programs with material requirements consistent with the highest level of cost effectiveness.
**Primary responsibilities**:
- Lead direct reports on the procurement of the packaging and raw materials to support production schedule, inventory levels and purchasing strategies, while meeting the set budgeted inventory levels.
- Monitor production vs. plan, finished goods and work in process inventories.
- Oversees the Purchasing function and drives cost reduction opportunities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current and ongoing customer requirements, changes to stock and or blanket requirements to meet customer expectations.
- Coordinates and executes annual physical inventory count in combination with cycle/spot counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor aged inventory to ensure inventory reduction and minimize loss.
- Systems management (MOQ, lead times, safety stocks, raw & finished goods material costs and change in cost impact)
- Maintain and track KPI’s with anticipating/correcting/communicating trends which would compromise achievement of targets.
- Build and direct a high performing team that consistently meets or exceeds expectations by assuring process compliance, ensuring appropriate training and feedback, increasing team aptitude to seek and utilize better forecasting and product replenishment.
- Implement Root-Cause Corrective Actions as required to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
- Take an active role in the selection, and onboarding of new hires, including ensuring that training is complete to a satisfactory level.
- Responsible for employee development, discipline, performance reviews and appraisals, administration of polices, time off approvals, record keeping etc.
- Understand, support, and follow management expectations in alignment with company values.
**Background Required**:
- Five (5) years experience in inventory control, material planning, and supplier negotiations.
- Completed post secondary education in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or equivalent work experience
- As a supervisor, you have 5+ years experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to utilize and train direct employees on technology, processes, and procedures
- Capable to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and priorities
- ERP software knowledge and experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment - Plastic processing an asset
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Communicate with clarity in all situations including written, verbal and team settings
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations, pivot tables and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
