Immaculate Conception Parish includes the Churches of Immaculate Conception, Truro; Sacred Heart, Millbrook; St Michaels, Brule; St Kateri Tekakwitha, Indian Brook; and St Bridget, Shubenacadie. As the parish reorganizes to meet the needs of our parish community, it has been identified that new and renewed approaches need constant assessment. Servicing a predominantly rural area requires an approach that will include family catechesis, community outreach and creativity in delivering professional and dynamic programming in the role of **Evangelization Coordinator.**

**Summary**:
The Evangelization Coordinator will be responsible for providing leadership and communications to reach parishioners, newcomers and the unchurched. Leadership will involve new and existing initiatives together with volunteers. Some initiatives have already been started like Alpha, Small Groups, and volunteer formation. Communications will involve print, social media, website, etc. to establish our church as a positive presence for Christian caring, sharing, and witnessing of the Gospel in our communities.

**Main duties and Responsibilities**:

- Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ongoing recruiting, training, and providing of evangelistic guidance to other ministries.
- Coordinating and executing special events for Evangelization. This may include Alpha, leadership events among staff and volunteers, parish events like Praise and Worship evenings, guest speakers, Diocesan programs and events, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to enhance promotion and engagement in all evangelization events, including writing of bulletin announcements, social media and website content.
- Promote and organize Small Groups.
- This work may require work from home, a combination of daytime office presence, multi-church visits, evenings or weekends.
- Collaborate with our full-time Office Administrator and involve supporting ministries.
- Common point of contact for in-person, Flocknote and telephone inquiries regarding Evangelization.
- Establish an outreach plan that will enhance our parish community presence by way of invitation, welcome and inspiration of Gospel and Catholic family values.

**Qualifications**:

- Active participation in their Catholic faith.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- An understanding and appreciation for core Catholic beliefs, including the centrality of Mass.
- Completed a related post-secondary program (administrative or project management or evangelization) or equivalent education and experience.
- An understanding of and love for the Immaculate Conception Parish Vision, Purpose, and Pastoral Plan.
- Experience in working with both churched and unchurched.
- A desire to contribute to, and be part of, a fun-filled, hospitable, and engaging work environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize in a multi-task environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an outstanding level of integrity to work collaboratively with people on staff, other church leaders, parishioners, and families.
- Leadership skills to recruit, train, and empower a team of unpaid volunteers.
- Ability to operate technology including: telephone systems; church database management systems; website platforms; digital and social media platforms.
- A clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

This is a part-time contract one year (1-year) role that will require an average of 15 hours per week for 42 weeks. Weeks off would align with public school vacations.
