**What you’ll be doing**:

- Execute Process Chemistry experiments using techniques such as extraction, distillation, and crystallization. Experiment will be completed both on bench and pilot scales.
- Prepare experimental designs and work instructions.
- Ensure quality of analysis through proper GLP and quality systems. Collection and scrutiny of data using relevant software.
- Write and revise SOPs and STMs, as required.
- Interpret and document all test results, calculations, observations, and complete report summaries.
- This position would not routinely have a supervisory component except when directed to participate in training of junior staff.
- Ensure workplace and equipment is cleaned and maintained and in good order as per GxP requirements. Collaborate with team to achieve all outcomes.
- Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements. Effectively and proficiently carry out all duties, in a timely and professional manner, and with diligent attention to quality of work.
- Ensure laboratory, glassware and equipment are maintained and kept cleaned and well stocked.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Your Environment**:

- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- 80% in the laboratory
- Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity
- Work is typically light but occasional heavy lifting and moving of boxes and gas cylinders may be required.
- Must be comfortable with working with various chemicals, usually in small quantities, as can be expected in a laboratory environment.
- Must be comfortable with working with level 2 biohazardous materials
- Work hours are regular day shift Monday to Friday, but occasional off-hour work may be required

**You’ll need to have**:

- B.Sc. or technical diploma in Chemistry or related field of study from a recognized university or college is required with a minimum 4 years of chemistry purification or cannabis extraction experience are required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- A working understanding of GMP/GLP and experience working with cannabis through a Health Canada licensed laboratory will be an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good mathematical and reasoning skills are required.
- Ability to follow complex written instructions
- Focused attention to detail and exceptional time management.
- A sound understanding of scientific methodologies and experience with experimental design and analysis.
- Scientific curiosity and personal drive to find breakthrough technologies, product improvements and leading methods
