**Role Responsibilities**:
As a Provincial Training Facilitator, you will be reporting to the Caregiver Training Supervisor and will join the Provincial Caregiver Training Team (PCTT) with four other trainers. This team delivers mandatory training to caregiver applicants and approved caregivers (kinship, foster, and permanency) through a blended approach of self-directed eLearnings, virtually facilitated and in-person sessions. Facilitated training sessions are offered in the morning, afternoon and evening. Through training, caregivers develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the diverse day to day needs of the children and youth in their care.
As a Provincial Caregiver Training Facilitator, you will be reporting to the Caregiver Training Supervisor, the Caregiver Training Facilitator is responsible for delivering mandatory training to ministry, DFNA and contracted agency caregivers across the province.
In addition to delivering mandatory training to caregivers across the province, caregiver facilitators support the ongoing development and updating of training materials to ensure the training is current, relevant; and provides caregivers with the training, skills and knowledge necessary to make effective decisions regarding the safety and wellbeing of children and youth in the Ministry's care.
**Role Responsibilities Cont'd**:
- Facilitating training sessions that provide caregivers with the tools, skills and knowledge for day-to-day trauma informed care, documentation, case planning, and critical thinking.
- Orientating caregivers to the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFEA) and their role in working collaboratively with Children's Services professionals and families.
- Maintaining the integrity of training content within the classroom setting while also assessing and responding to training participants learning needs in a skilled, adaptive and flexible manner.
- Contributing to the development of participant materials, facilitator guides, and other tools that support caregivers in their role.
- Initiating and maintaining relationships with Elders and First Nations communities to provide culturally appropriate training that meets their need.
Caregiver Training Facilitators work as part of a team and are able to consult/collaborate with one another as well as with the Supervisor of Caregiver Training and Manager in Workforce Development on an ongoing basis.
Consultation and collaborative decision making may also include internal partners within Workforce Development (Learning and Development Advisors), the Placement Resources Unit and Policy, Practice, Program Division within Children and Family Services as well as agency partners and caregivers themselves.
