The SWAT (Specialists with Actuarial Talent) team within Retirement and Benefits Solutions is a national actuarial team that performs technical valuations and analysis for defined benefit pension plans in Canada. As an Actuarial Consultant on the SWAT team, you have a passion for numbers, an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing calculations. Being a key member of the SWAT team, you help to ensure delivery of high-quality work that support our client facing consultants in meeting specific client needs. In this internal role, you build strong relationships with internal client teams, tackling new challenges everyday with the guidance and expertise of seasoned colleagues who care.

This role will enjoy hybrid work arrangements with the flexibility to work onsite or remotely from your home office.

**Responsibilities**:
- Support client-facing consultants with valuation and other technical expertise with respect to Defined Benefit and Target Benefit pension plans in Canada- Support, supervise and validate the process of actuarial valuations for funding and accounting purposes.- Ensure delivery of high-quality work that meets legislative requirements.- Foster the development of team members through coaching, mentoring and providing regular feedback.- Build and maintain excellent relations with internal colleagues- Contribute to internal development projects.

Succeeding as an Actuarial Consultant will require the following core qualifications and skills:
- Post-secondary degree in actuarial science, mathematics or business- 6+ years of relevant industry experience in pension actuarial or related field- ACIA (or equivalent) actuarial designation and working towards becoming a fully qualified actuary. Completion of the FCIA (or equivalent) designation would be an asset.- Very good understanding of actuarial principles and pension legislation in Canada- Have excellent communication skills (oral and written)- Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence.- Very good project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance priorities.- Master the Microsoft Office suite.- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
