**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Assistant Program.
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Assistant with the Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (Formerly Ontario Society of Medical Technologists) or the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science..
- Recent related clinical experience as a medical laboratory assistant in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in phlebotomy techniques for patients/clients of all ages.
- Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice.
- Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
- Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
- Working knowledge of computers, Laboratory Information Systems and other related Hospital systems.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
