**Position Summary**:Under the general supervision and in collaboration with the manager, the Clinical Service Leader - Physiotherapy Services is responsible to provide discipline-specific clinical leadership to associated discipline professionals and support staff through, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research.

In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and external partners the Clinical Service Leader - Physiotherapy Services will contribute to the delivery of quality therapy services by examining, developing, refining and evaluating clinical practices, assisting in program planning, development of program metrics and outcome measurements, assessments, intervention, discharge planning and follow up. In addition, the clinical lead is involved in education of clients, family, other health care staff and auxiliary staff with regard to the applicable therapy treatment, the management of the client’s health complications, and preventative techniques.

The primary goals are the promotion of health and the preservation or restoration of function needed by individuals of all age groups and with varying health problems to maintain or increase independence within their home or community. The Clinical Service Leader - Physiotherapy Services practice will be based upon a client centered approach that emphasizes the involvement of clients in defining what optimal health and functioning means to them.

The position of Clinical Service Leader - Physiotherapy Services functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.

**Qualifications**:

- Entry-to-practice academic credential in the discipline-specific therapy service from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated required.
- Masters Degree in Physiotherapy
- Current registration and a member in good standing with the College of Physical Therapists of Manitoba required.
- Eligible to practice and maintain licensure in Manitoba.
- Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
- Training in fiscal and human resource management preferred.
- Knowledge of integrated hospital information systems, including a related therapy workload measurement system, would be an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Minimum of five years recent, relevant experience in a large complex environment.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult education.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and support change.
- Knowledge of the regulations and scope of practice documents that guide the related therapist and relevant support workers such as Rehabilitation Assistants.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, team building and role-modeling skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice.
- Working knowledge of research/program evaluation methodology.
- Ability to function within a computerized environment.
- Demonstrates the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license.
- Mental and physical ability
