We are a medium size General Contractor with multiple projects around the Lower Mainland. Our projects are generally all Wood Frame Condo buildings ranging from 4-6 Stories, and 75-200 units. We currently have active projects being constructed in Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford and Mission.

Backframing carpenter for a multifamily wood frame complex in Langley featuring a 4-story condo building and 4 townhouse buildings. We require extra manpower by skilled carpenters to help our current team progress with their scope. Experience with Wood frame structures is a necessity, and experience with other facets of construction is encouraged. This could include proficiency working with Drywall, Concrete, Appliances, Fire-stopping, Insulation, as well as basic ability to run construction machinery such as Boom Lifts, Scissor lifts and Telehandlers.

**Duties**
- Backframing on Wood-frame structures. This could include: checking to make sure walls are straight/plumb/square, adding backing, fixing trade errors, adding point loads, framing in cavities for household fixtures (Medicine Cabinets, Safes, Niches etc.), furring walls out/in, among other items. You responsibilities will vary day-by-day and in many cases it will be up to you to be creative in solving various problems that arise.
- Taking down drywall and later restoring back to previous form.
- Reviewing the work of various trades on site and ensuring it is being done to the best of their abilities.
- Ability to read drawings/blueprints and follow them as required.
- Follow specific instructions and work in a team environment to ensure the various trades on site have what they need to advance with their scope.
- Proficiency with a wide array of carpentry hand and power tools.
- Experience with Concrete forming not a necessity at this phase of the project but will come in handy in the future.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- carpentry: 3 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
