Kids Clinic established in 2002 and is a multidisciplinary practice focusing on improving the quality of life in children, youth and adults with behavioural, developmental and psychiatric disorders, by providing the best solutions for each individual. We are seeking a part-time Physician Assistant with a special interest in psychology, development and mental health to join our team with the opportunity to work and develop their skills within a multi-disciplinary environment. The Physician Assistant responsibilities may include patient assessment and history taking, assist in the ongoing medical monitoring of patients, provide education to patients, families and other health providers as appropriate, maintain clear, accurate and appropriate records of the patient encounter and management plan, and assist in program development and evaluation. **Responsibilities**: - Triage patients, take vitals, history and other relevant details necessary to determine patients status - Document in patients electronic records accurately and concisely - Prepare appropriate requisitions needed including but not limited to laboratory tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. - Prepare prescriptions based on physicians directions - Follow and remain knowledgeable on pediatric practice guidelines - Provide telephone consultation as needed - Prepare medical certificates and other documentation. (ie. ODSP forms, tax disability credits, school identification forms) - Create referrals to outside services as requested - Write doctor’s notes or consult reports as required **Qualifications** - International Medical Graduate Degree, or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Education Program - Experience in psychiatry / psychology - Intermediate/Advanced computer skills - Ability to work within an multidisciplinary team and to work under supervising physicians - Clinical competencies and patient assessment skills - Ability to take initiative and work independently on delegated/assigned tasks - Ability to work under pressure, fast-paced environment, and to adapt to change Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour **Benefits**: - On-site parking - Paid time off Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Ajax, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) **Experience**: - EMR: 1 year (required) - physician assistant: 1 year (required) Work Location: In person
