Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the required standards of taste, texture, and presentation
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding food preparation, cooking, and sanitation
**Experience**:
- Previous experience working as a cook in a restaurant or similar food service establishment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
**Skills**:
- Food handling: Ability to handle, prepare, and store food safely and hygienically
- Cook: Proficiency in cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, baking, etc.
- Food preparation: Knowledge of ingredient preparation, portioning, and measuring techniques
- Food safety: Understanding of proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Meal preparation: Ability to plan and prepare meals according to specified recipes or dietary requirements
- Help: Willingness to assist other kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Food service: Familiarity with customer service principles in a food service setting
- Food industry: Understanding of the overall operations and dynamics of the food industry
- Kitchen: Knowledge of kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils used in food preparation
- Restaurant: Experience working in a restaurant environment
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.55-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17.20 - 20.00 per week
