Building Automation Controls Technician

**Responsibilities**:
- Perform verification of installation, start-ups, repairs, commissioning, calibration and trouble-shoot building environment control systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance service as part of service agreements, periodic inspections, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customer.
- Keep current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair.
- Provide technical support and basic training to customers.
- Travel to customer job site is required. Travel within National Capital area and Eastern Ontario Area.
- Standard work hours are from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, and available for occasional after hours and weekend shifts for afterhours service.
**Qualifications**:
- Ideally Engineering Degree or Technologists’ Diploma in Electrical, Process Controls, Building Automation or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with building automation systems and HVAC.
- Experience in Reliable Controls or other building automation systems
- Familiarity with basic programming requirements for Building automation systems. Familiar with BACnet networks IP, MS/TP or Modbus
- Able to interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans or other technical documents.
- Good working knowledge of the operation, installation and servicing of controllers and peripheral devices.
- Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, able to diagnose problems and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Successfully pass and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (i.e., Reliability and/or Secret), and criminal checks
- Able to commute to customer job sites and have a valid driver’s license (clean drivers abstract records).
- Good communication skills
- Working At Heights Training Certificate (this can be obtained with the help of the company)
- Demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service.
