Overview:
Lafarge Canada is looking for an Asphalt Terminal Operator and Emulsion Spray Truck Operator.

Lafarge Asphalt Technologies is also a distributor of road de-icing salt. In this position you will be required to load bulk materials into transport trucks with a front end loader. You will also be involved in the production of bagged salt products for sale to our customers. You will participate in the offload operations of salt shipments and maintenance tasks for covering the salt stockpile with tarps.

This is an hourly, full-time, unionized position offering year-round work. The position will require availability for working days, nights, and on weekends with opportunities for overtime.

**Responsibilities**:

- Performs walk-around pre-trip safety inspections. Performs regular routine maintenance on mobile equipment (oil & lube). Identifies safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and areas where safety can be improved.
- Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
- Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with Company standards.
- May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Operates mobile equipment safely while adhering to safety policies and posted speed limits.
- Performs general facility maintenance tasks as required.
- Completes pre-task hazard assessments each day.

Qualifications:

- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement or higher class commercial license.
- Mandatory drug and alcohol pre-screening is needed before starting work.
- Heavy machinery / equipment experience is an asset.
- Hands-on mechanical skills/certifications are an asset.
