The Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA) is a dedicated and professional team and we look forward to enriching our team with your health and safety expertise, particularly as it relates to Workplace Insurance Safety Board (WSIB) guidelines and claims.**About the job**: As part of this professional team, you will:

- work on files from early resolution up to and including Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) appeals and hearings
- give advice, and educate workers and worker organizations
- co-ordinate multiple cases using a case management system
- investigate circumstances of claim by obtaining and analyzing relevant information and conducting interviews
- advise and direct injured workers, survivors, their families and community partners regarding issues and evidence required for a successful resolution
- advocate and present cases on behalf of clients at all appeal levels
- prepare clients and witnesses for hearings or appeals
- make written or oral presentations to Appeals Resolution Officers and WSIAT Vice Chairs and panels

**What you bring to the team**:
**Mandatory requirements**:

- You are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and entitled to provide legal services in Ontario;
OR
- You are currently employed with the Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA) or the Office of the Employer Adviser (OEA) and covered by the exemptions for the stated offices, as determined by the Law Society of Ontario.

**Communication Skills**:

- You possess well-developed oral and written communication and advocacy skills to articulate issues, make effective arguments before adjudicative bodies, interview/examine witnesses, and communicate complex information.
- You have the ability to empathetically manage client relationships and communicate legal issues and arguments in plain language.

**Research and Analytical Skills**:

- You have proven research and analytical ability to obtain and interpret legislation, caselaw, policies and procedures and assess complex case information to develop case strategies and determine appropriate legal remedies.

**Case Management and Organizational Skills**:
