Reporting to the Project Services Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting our Utilities Procurement team in all purchasing related activities. This person will also ensure the timely receipt of goods in SAP, as well as tracking deliveries and returns of rental equipment. This position acts as a liaison between offices and field workers and must possess strong knowledge of procurement policies and procedures.

**What You'll Do Here**:

- Execute the coordination of procurement products and services.
- Generate repetitive orders with suppliers and construct vendor corrective measures when required.
- Create purchase orders in SAP and confirm purchase quantities and pricing with vendor.
- Perform services rendered by subcontractors in SAP.
- Manage rental trackers for tooling and equipment requirements.
- Ensure that all packing slips have been verified for all pertinent information.
- Adherence to Aecon preferred supplier sourcing footprint
- Real time resolution of price, delivery, account assignment, material, and service-related exceptions
- Clear open commitments and close purchase orders as required.
- Maintains and organizes all related filing systems.
- Support the field for urgent purchases.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

**What You Bring to the Team**:

- Supply Chain Management Certification preferred.
- Previous experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within the overhead distribution construction industry required.
- Knowledge of electrical overhead distribution materials and suppliers.
- Self-start with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment, attention to detail, and excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced level of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
- Technical understanding of SAP and the procure to pay process.
- Understanding of “total cost” concepts
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Strong customer service aptitude with the ability to forge relationships both internally within different Aecon departments and externally with suppliers.
