Position Overview:
As a Powertrain Assembly Technician - Level 1, you will be responsible for the assembly of Caterpillar powertrain components including brakes, planetary groups, clutches, and final drives. You will leverage your mechanical experience in combination with your safety focus to produce quality products in a timely manner.
**Job Description**:
- Responsible for assembling components in the powertrain category in accordance with OEM specifications, standard hours, and quality metrics
- Must be capable of assembling powertrain components with mínimal supervision
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years’ related experience
- Must be proficient with standard heavy duty measurement, hand and power tools, and safety equipment
- Good understanding of Powertrain components and their internal parts and how they function
- Ability to work efficiently with mínimal supervision as well as being part of a team environment
- Strong organizational & communication skills
- Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Completion of any automotive or Heavy Duty technician apprenticeship training would be considered an asset
Note:
- This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday - Thursday; 10 hours per day
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
- Hourly Rate: $37.48 - $50.93 / Hour
Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement
