**About the company**:
Kingstairs Inc is a Stairs and Railing company in Toronto and looking for a carpenter to hire in a full-time permanent position whose expertise falls under houses and renovation.
The job will be performed on job sites in GTA, Ontario.
**Responsibilities**:
- Designing and installation of Stairs
- Installing wooden structures such as framers, joists, partitions, rafters, and stud work
- Adding fittings and fixtures, including handles, hinges, locks, and closures
- Selecting lumber as per the requirements of the project and sourcing wood that fits within
- Consulting other construction professionals to ensure the best possible results and the final product.
- Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects and construction professionals and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements.
- Familiar with building new modern stair designs.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join assemblies made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials, including material takeoffs
- Fit and install trim items and hardware;
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Carpenter
- Proven experience in Stairs and railing building.
- A degree/certificate or an apprenticeship in carpentry
- High level of creativity
- AutoCAD skill is a plus
- Ability to use hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns, chisels, and sanders
- Stairs making or joinery skills
- Able to handle a large workload, Physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, methods of installation, and construction
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others
- Proven experience as a carpenter
- Reliable, Dependable, Positive Attitude & Punctual
- Represent our brand in a professional manner that our customers expect and our commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in working with woodworking CNC machines is a plus.
**Physical Abilities**:
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to perform the job.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
- Must be able to lift 60lbs.
- Ability to perform the job in a workshop environment
- Other physical requirements as needed for the job
