We are looking for a reliable tutor to assist siblings, a **1st-grade**student struggling with **Math & Spelling**and a **3rd-grade** student struggling with **Math**in person at their home in **North York** in the vicinity of **Islington Ave.**and **Steeles Ave.** for **an hour a week each**, on the **same day,** starting as soon as possible.

The tutor will work directly with the students in person on a one-on-one basis, providing the help they need.

**Tutor Requirements and Qualifications**
- High school diploma or higher
- Experience working with teens
- Able to work after school hours
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Have a high level of patience,
- Have an understanding and make the lesson a positive experience
- Able to keep the lesson enjoyable and engaging
- Build rapport with the student
- Agree to have an 18 or older adult present when tutoring in person
- Must have strong English skills and be easily understood by all students.
- Preferably have access to a car or reside near the area where the student is located and use public transit

**Tutor Duties and Responsibilities**
- Arrive on time that is scheduled
- Discuss what problem the students need help with
- Explain and teach the student in an easy-to-understand way
- Provide encouragement and positive motivation
- Prepare the student for tests
- Collaborate with parents and teachers to evaluate student needs
- Review their work or assignment before the lesson you teach
- You may have to prepare materials specific to upcoming assignments or test
- Must be able to speak English clearly enough to be easily understood by the student
- Send in the student’s progress report at the end of each month
- Send in the hours you tutored the student each month

**Job Type**: Freelance

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
