**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
We currently have an opening for a **Technical Writer** at our head office in Richmond, BC. The Technical Writer is responsible for producing high-quality documentation to help contribute to the success of our products. This position is required to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments to ensure products are maintained with up-to-date information.

- Works within a cross-functional team including Developers, Product Managers, and QA analysts.
- Can learn domain knowledge surrounding projects and the fields they relate to.

- Produces high quality on-line help content, and documents that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for the intended audience.
- Manages localization projects with internal teams and outside contracts.
- Writes and formats user documentation.

**ABOUT YOU**

You are a creative, collaborative, and efficient Technical Writer with a passion for technology and helping create solutions for real-world problems. You easily understand and quickly learn new-to-you technologies. You are a strong communicator and are able to analyze, summarize, and synthesize indsutry and product-specific technical information.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully.
- Possess strong analytical skills to gather and review information.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team.
- Ability to prioritize and handle assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational and facilitation skills as well as be trustworthy, detail oriented, and accurate.
- Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts and interpret them into understandable written form.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in HTML and CSS.
- Working knowledge of any help authoring tools (e.g. Help Studio, Robo Help, Adobe Suites, Madcap, Flare or equivalent) is an asset.
- Basic understanding of translation tools (e.g. Trados) and translation memory is nice to have.
- Basic familiarity of version control software such as svn and git is nice to have.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Proven work experience in technical writing, preferably in the software industry.
