General Machinist

Established in 1993, FTS is a full service fabrication, millwrighting and machining company specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of custom components and equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

We have an immediate opening for a Full Time general machinist.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Produce high quality components within tight tolerances, using manual Lathe, and Mills and boring mill
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- In process and final inspection of parts using precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of tooling, gauges and the ability to operate and understand precision measuring tools
- Effectively communicate information with managers and other employees, both orally and in writing Assisting our skilled tradespeople while gaining experience to different trades (Welding, Fabricating, polishing, millwrighting, etc.)
- Maintaining an organized and safe work area
- Must be able to work independently with a willingness to learn new skills
- Jobbing Shop Experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of proper cutting tool selection
- Experience with measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges etc.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

**To be successful, you will need**:

- 3-5 years experience in the trade, red seal Machinist
- Machinist Certificate
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem solving
- Able to lift up to 50 lb
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (no bus route available)
