Reporting to the SMC supervisor, the **Warehouse Technician (WT)** is responsible to perform general warehousing duties such as stocktaking, maintaining and purchasing sufficient stock, stocking shelves and bins (including driving a forklift) and recording purchases, returns and completed orders in a Management Information System. The Warehouse Technician is responsible to coordinate international and domestic shipping, to assist in the procurement of spare parts, including but not limited to internet searches and liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers, and to identify parts and materials, in consultation with a senior technologist, for return to a client warehouse or for scrap.

This role will be based in **Victoria, BC.**

**This position will be involved with the following activities**:

- Control inventory.
- Issue and receipt of parts.
- Assist in the procurement of spare parts.
- Liaise with Service Providers and Suppliers.
- Oversee shipping domestically and internationally.
- Perform stocktaking and audits.
- Maintaining a pre-existing electronic filing system.
- Scanning documents and filing into applicable electronic storage area.
- Interacting with project management, engineering and operations staff to provide spare parts to carry out tasks onboard vessels.

**Your role within the team**

**_ Warehouse Technician 1_** - Technical, Administrative, and Logistical Support to SLDPI Operations. Maintain inventory control, Create WEAF Requests for Quotes, Assist other warehouse staff in the transfer of spare parts between coastal warehouses (Time = 75%)**:

- Preparing Requests for Quotes for the purchase of materials IAW SLDPI and MWAV procedures including, but not limited to, procedures 500-10A (Procurement Process Control), 500-10B (WEAF Process Control) 500-11 (Bid Receipt).
- Provide inventory control IAW SLDPI and MWAV procedures including, but not limited to, procedures 500-1 (Management and Provision of Logistics Support), 500-2 (Management and Provision of Material), 500-3 (Control of Customer Supplied Material), 500-04 (Product Identification and Traceability), 500-05 (Handling Storage Packaging Preservation and Delivery), 500-06 (HAZMAT Storage HAZWASTE Disposal and WHMIS)
- Input and retrieve date from the Management Information System (MIS)
- Control inventory via the issue and receipt of parts.
- Liaise with Service Providers and Suppliers.
- Perform an annual stocktaking in the warehouse.
- Oversee packaging and shipping of parts domestically and internationally.
- Assist with adhoc warehouse audits with PSPC.
- Use and maintain hardcopy and electronic filing system(s).
- Liase with Warehouse staff from our other SLDPI coastal office.
- Assist in communicating with client representatives in local/coastal offices.
- Liase with Service Provider representatives to provide parts required for them to carry out repairs / installations.

**_ Warehouse Technician 2_** - Perform warehouse and procurement duties in the coastal office (Time = 10%)**
- Assist in the procurement of office supplies and safety supplies.
- Receive office supplies and safety supplies into the warehouse.
- Upload to and download from electronic storage (Share Point / MIS)
- Assist in performing facility checks.
- Use the ISS Handbook.

**_ Warehouse Technician 3_** - Assist other MWAV offices with warehouse and procurement duties (Time = 5%)**
- Assist in the location and issuance of spare parts to support MWAV activities.
- Package and ship spare parts to support MWAV activities.

***_Warehouse Technician 4_** - **Complete other tasks as directed by the SMC Supervisor (Time = 10%)**:

- Respond to internal and external auditor enquiries.
- Provide input for MIS upgrades and process improvements.
- Responsible to adhere to and follow corporate policies.
- Promote and foster a continuing safety culture.
- Assist with other duties as required.

- A minimum three years working in a warehouse with knowledge of inventory control systems and forklift operations is required.
- The Warehouse Technician must hold a valid Forklift Operator’s certificate.
