**POSITION** **Junior Analyst, Underwriting - Commercial Real Estate Finance Division**

**YOUR OPPORTUNITY**

**YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting the timely review and feasibility assessments of project-based mortgage loan requests under an asset secured model;
- Assisting in the preparation of formal loan presentations to third party lenders;
- Supporting the identification, assessment, and quantification of moderate to complex risks on a project-by-project basis through: 1) Valuation of real estate security; 2) Research on current market conditions and comparable transactions; 3) Preparing and maintaining working papers to support underwriting recommendations; and 4) Developing and completing efficient and comprehensive due diligence procedures on a deal-by-deal basis.
- Identifying potential target clients using available industry resources;
- Working with in-house business development staff, borrowers, and third-party brokers / clients to develop and maintain positive business relationships; and
- Conducting market research and supporting the initiatives being conducted by KV Capital’s Commercial Real Estate Finance Division to support its growth.

**YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS**

To be successful in this role you must have:

- A degree, designation, or certification in a finance-related field
- Exceptional analytical skills and financial acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce professional-quality communication material suited to its purpose and audience
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with a demonstrated expertise in Excel
- Personal interest, working knowledge, and/or experience in the real estate or commercial mortgage industry
- Awareness of local (Albertan and Canadian) economic conditions and indicators
- Experience using Spin, various real estate information databases, and performing credit bureau searches would be an asset, but not required
