**Position Overview**:
The Pro Shop Assistant plays a key role in providing exceptional customer service to members and guests, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the golf shop. This position involves retail sales, tee time management, tournament support, and general golf operations assistance. The Pro Shop Assistant serves as the front-line representative of the golf club, promoting a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service & Member Engagement**
- Greet members and guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
- Provide information on tee times, course conditions, tournaments, and club policies.
- Assist with product selection, offering recommendations for golf apparel, equipment, and accessories.
- Handle member inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a courteous and solution-focused manner.

**Tee Time & Booking Management**
- Schedule, confirm, and adjust tee time bookings using the club’s reservation system.
- Communicate with starters, marshals, and course maintenance to ensure smooth pace of play.
- Coordinate special bookings for groups, corporate outings, and tournaments.

**Retail Operations**
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Restock, organize, and maintain displays of merchandise to maximize sales.
- Assist in receiving, pricing, and tagging new inventory.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, reporting shortages or issues to the Head Professional.

**Tournament & League Support**
- Assist in organizing, setting up, and scoring tournaments and leagues.
- Prepare scorecards, cart signs, proximity markers, and event materials.
- Support prize distribution and post-event communications.

**Golf Operations Support**
- Communicate course conditions, rules, and any updates to players.
- Assist with cart assignments and tracking usage.
- Monitor pace of play and assist with on-course coordination when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pro shop, storage areas, and surrounding facilities.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Basic knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and equipment (training provided if necessary).
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs (e.g., merchandise boxes, golf bags).
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

**Reporting Structure**:
Reports to: Head Golf Professional / Assistant Golf Professional

**Work Environment**:
This position is part of a team-oriented golf operations environment. The Pro Shop Assistant interacts with members, guests, and other staff daily and is expected to maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor at all times.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
