- **The Role**:_

The **Payroll Specialist **will be responsible for the Rossdown Group of Companies payroll. This role has a high responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and ensuring all employee information is relevant and payroll is up to date. This role also has a legislation requirement to ensure the company is complying with employment laws as well as our Collective Agreement as this related to payroll.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**All Payroll**
- Ensuring all payments follow the Collective Agreement and employees’ timecards align with the CA.
- Processing all bi-weekly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees.
- Reviews all employees that have been entered into the system by HR Coordinator.
- Ensuring that all payroll changes are made accurately and in time for effected pay periods.
- Reviewing timesheets and work hours for completeness and accuracy.
- Following up with the Supervisors to ensure the hours are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the accurate processing of all employees' sick and vacation pay and follow up with supervisors if no time is allocated.
- Complete the full payroll duties after the payroll is released.
- Ensures the termination payments are processed within the timeframe and terminated files are pulled.
- Processing Record of Employment by the legislation date.

**All Companies Payroll**
- Creating required internal management reports from the payroll system for all companies and ensures the reporting is streamlined throughout the system.
- Responding to government agencies inquiries regarding payroll.
- Ensures SIN numbers and work permits are accurate and up to date.
- Staying current with payroll regulations, standards, and work methods.
- Processing Quarterly reporting for EHT and WCB of all Companies payroll remittances.
- Completeing year-end, process T4’s, WCB and EHT Annual filings
- Review termination payments from payroll generalist.

**Benefits**
- Ensuring all employees of the Rossdown Group are enrolled into the PBC plan on time; and that all the PBC invoices are reconciled, and employee benefit changes are updated in a timely manner
- Ensuring the employees are enrolled in the pension plan and communicates with the people team for enrollment forms.

**Finance & Other tasks**
- Computing payroll accrual for all Companies for month end and reconcile all companies' payroll accounting accounts (WCB, Vacation, EHT, Employee Expenses)
- Completing all government funding labor reports.
- Communicating (after 8:30am) the sick calls to operations in a timely manner and enters the sick/awol/unauthorized data into the system.
- Ensuring all documentation for all company foreign workers is stored appropriately and the company is always in audit state and payments are collected from employees.
- Creating job letters for all employees under Rossdown Natural Foods.
- **Requirements**:_
- 3-4 years experience of payroll processing
- Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations and requirements
- Solid understanding of MS Office, Payroll Software (PayWorks)
- PCP graduate
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail, planning and organizing
- Manufacturing experience and in a unionized environment (preferred)

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
