Journeyman Refrigeration Technician

**Job Summary**

• The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is primarily responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of a variety of HVAC equipment including air handling units, refrigeration equipment, motors, heating units, heat pumps, boilers, burners, humidifiers intake and exhaust fans.
• Responsible for the field servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting of all components of commercial refrigeration units and systems, make-up units, exhaust fans and central air conditioning and heat pumps
• Responsible for the diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial kitchen appliances.
• Completes timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects/deficiencies
• Performs scheduled maintenance service on HVAC and Refrigeration systems and fixtures
• Provides input into the planned and scheduled work and assists with the completion of the committed schedule
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications, orders materials and supplies, lays out projects and reports on work in progress as required.
• Attend regular training and maintain working knowledge of latest industry developments.
• Respond to emergency work after hours, any day of the week

**Qualifications & Requirements**

• Red Seal Refrigeration Journeyman
• Minimum B-Gas Ticket is required
• Experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
• Proficient in all HVAC functional design and installation of split AC systems and comprehensive understanding of gas and electric furnaces, heat pumps, trouble shooting and installation of all residential and commercial systems
• Commercial/residential estimating experience an asset
• Certification in Fujitsu VRF or other major equipment systems is an asset
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License, with a clean driving record
• Self-starter who is assertive and willing to “go the extra mile” for clients and the team is a must
• Organized, responsible and maintains a sense of ‘ownership’
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
