**The Position**:
Neelands Group Limited is searching for a Sheet Metal Worker (308A Apprentice) to join our team at the Burlington, Ontario location. This is a regular, full-time union position with a full union compensation package. Reporting to the Senior HVAC Manager, the Apprentice will work closely with the team on installation of HVAC systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Proficient ability to install HVAC rooftop units, gas piping (high/ low pressure, welded) flashings, exhaust fans, kitchen hoods, grease ducts, ductless spilt units, radiant heaters, and respective supportive frameworks.
- Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal assemblies.
- Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed and select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications.
- Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with TDC, Cleats, bolts, and welded joints.
- Ensure that efficiency is maximized while installing HVAC systems while in fast-paced environment.
- Start up and commissioning of HVAC equipment.
- Ensure making safety a priority on the job during all activities, including while using tools, installing and fabricating duct systems.
- Good housekeeping and organization.
- Work well independently.

**Qualifications**:

- Registered for 308 A apprentice
- Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate.
- G2 - G3 Gas license.
- Valid G license with a clean driver abstract.
- English language proficiency (read/write/speak).
- Gas license G1 an asset.
- Experience in brazing.
- Commercial and industrial HVAC experience an asset.
- Member of Local 787 an asset.
- Experience with supermarkets HVAC installation an asset.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods License an asset.
- Must be competent in reading blueprint and electrical and electronic schematics.
- Must be able to understand electrical and plumbing concepts.
- Must have basic knowledge of construction methods.
- Must be able to operate tools, gauges and other testing equipment for HVAC systems.
