**About the Saint-Louis Residence**

Saint-Louis Residence is a 198 bed Long-Term Care (LTC) home with convalescent care, peritoneal dialysis and respite programs situated in a quiet residential neighborhood on a picturesque setting on the edge of the Ottawa river. **What would my role be?**

Reporting to the Coordinator, Therapeutic Recreation, you will be responsible for the delivery of the recreation participation and sensory stimulation component of resident-centered care.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:

- Plan, organize, and facilitate therapeutic and social activities to meet the recreation-related needs of the residents and plans and accompanies residents on group outings.
- Develop activity outlines for the Therapeutic Recreation Services Activities Manual when a new activity has been created and implemented.

**How do I qualify?**

Required:

- Minimum of Two (2) year Community college diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or a related field; or a combination of the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in a long-term care environment, including those living with dementia.
- Experience with group animation
- Smart Serve certified.
- Fluent in French and English.

Preferred:

- Registered member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including superior ability to connect with individuals living with dementia.
- Strong focus on resident, their experience and quality of life.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
