To ensure we uphold these standards, we are looking to add a Registered Pharmacy Technician to our growing team.
**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
- Receives, prepares and dispenses prescriptions and drug orders, including counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing, re-packaging, and labeling medications
- Help health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist
- Confirm and check pharmaceutical products prepared to ensure accuracy and completeness of all prescription orders prior to dispensing
- Providing final check of customer compliance packaging
- Monitors and maintains stock levels of drugs in designated areas
- Enters prescriptions and drug orders into Pharmacy computer system ensuring completeness and accuracy of information to maintain electronic database of customer and prescription information
- Maintains records such as prescriptions (including narcotics and controlled drugs), quality control and any other required documentation as directed
- Works under licensed pharmacist to prepare and dispense medications to patients
- Dispensing of prescription refills without the involvement of a Pharmacist
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Participates in staff training and education programs and continuous improvement activities
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
- Experience with Compounding considered an asset
- Minimum 1 years of experience as pharmacy assistant/technician
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and tactfully
- Fluent in English and French would be considered an asset
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
