As part of the Operations team, you will perform a variety of cleaning activities within the church as well as assist the Head Custodian with tasks as required.

**Ways You Will Contribute**:

- Collaborating with the Head Custodian to ensure the scheduled maintenance of all public areas, equipment, tools, vehicles, and fixtures are completed
- Emptying trash containers and removing trash from all public areas and offices and performing other custodial work as assigned including vacuuming scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse and washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs, and cleaning, sanitizing, and ensuring bathroom supplies are well stocked
- Setting up rooms for events in the building
- Ensuring that security and safety measures are in place including locking and unlocking windows, doors, and gates and performing a daily security walkthrough of the building before arming the building
- Reporting any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department
- Moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies if required
- Performing other janitorial duties based on operational needs.

**What You Bring**:

- A high school diploma or Adult Graduation Diploma (GED) is required
- Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred
- Valid BC Driver’s license
- Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work
- WHMIS training is preferred
- Strong communication Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

This is a part-time position that works 16 hours per week.
