Have you been laid off due to Covid-19 or thinking of a career change to find more secure employment, full-time hours or a better wage? Are you on EI or collecting one of the relief benefits but want to start looking for a new job or train for a new career?

Georgian College, Career and Employment Community Services (CECS) in Orangeville, ON is a provincially run employment centre/service provider serving residents in Dufferin County that has helpful resources for job seekers and employers.

This is a free government funded service to support those that may face barriers to employment, achieve their career goals.

The government has set specific requirements and criteria for clients in order to be eligible to work with a consultant and access assisted services.

To access assisted services:
You must provide a SIN number to be eligible to receive assisted services. Temporary foreign workers and international students with a 900- series SIN may not access assisted services.

*Please note, you must be a resident of Orangeville, Ontario, Canada or live in the immediate surrounding areas of Dufferin County to access our free services (this includes: Shelburne, Grand Valley, Mono, Amaranth, Erin).*

Our employment services consultants will help you with:

- career planning and decision making to help you choose a career path
- Skills training information and funding
- learning how to self-market for the position you are seeking
- resumé and cover letter development as well as interview tips
- access to exclusive local job opportunities and the hidden job market
- job search assistance
- career-related virtual workshops and online training
- access to employment webinars
- live video chats to answer your employment questions

Qualifications/ Requirements
- provide a SIN number (Temporary foreign workers and international students with a 900 - series SIN may not access assisted services.)
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Out of school (full time students are not eligible for our services)
- Currently unemployed or working part-time (less than 20 hours per week)
