**Head Brewer - Ridge Rock Brewing Company**
Ridge Rock Brewing Company is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Brewer to lead all aspects of wort production, cellaring, and packaging. Based in the heart of Carp, Ontario, Ridge Rock has been proudly brewing since September 2018, focusing on fresh, approachable styles for our large dining room, retail shop, and growing LCBO presence.
Currently, Ridge Rock operates a 15 BBL brewhouse with three 30 BBL fermenters, two 15 BBL fermenters, and two 30 BBL brite tanks. Packaging is done via mobile canning services.
As Head Brewer, you will have creative freedom to develop new and exciting recipes while maintaining and evolving our core lineup. Our brewery focuses on producing easy-drinking, high-quality beer with four flagship brands and a rotating selection of seasonal offerings.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and oversee all brewing operations from wort production to cellaring and packaging.
- Manage production schedules, inventory, and ordering of raw materials and consumables.
- Manage yeast health, harvesting, and pitching.
- Develop, formulate, and produce new beer recipes.
- Maintain detailed records and production reports.
- Create, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for brewing and cleaning (CIP/SIP).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair brewing equipment as needed.
- Develop and enforce brewery safety protocols.
- Represent Ridge Rock at beer festivals, events, and occasional outside sales opportunities.
- Educate staff on beer styles, flavor profiles, and support food/beer pairing initiatives.
- Maintain and troubleshoot draft systems throughout the facility.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Formal brewing education, equivalent brewing experience, or related technical training.
- Strong technical brewing skills with a focus on consistency, quality control, and SOP development.
- Proven ability to create and execute new, creative recipes across a range of approachable styles.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to safely lift 25 kg and stand for long periods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on team support and conflict resolution.
