**Job description**
We are currently seeking a Full-Time General Carpenter to support with both general and finish carpentry projects to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.

**Position Summary**
The General Carpenter is responsible for the high-quality fabrication, construction, and repair of structural woodwork and wood products by following engineered drawings, renderings, proposed scope, and oral instruction, while using carpentry tools and equipment.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the duties and responsibilities of the General Carpenter include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs a range of carpentry tasks ensuring all daily job site construction is completed with quality and care;
- Installs exterior doors/windows, trim work, fitting interior doors, and flooring install (wood and vinyl), framing of floors, walls, rafter and truss roofs;
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans, and execute framing, floor joist installations, and load-bearing structures to meet building codes and safety standards.
- Interprets and works from engineered drawings, specifications, and instructions to complete projects;
- Skilled in identifying structural issues, making necessary repairs, and working with various materials such as wood, steel, or concrete to reinforce or rebuild structural components.
- Coordinates with the Site Supervisors and Project Managers to determine materials, equipment, and resource needs;
- Assists in material takeoffs and communicates requirements promptly;
- Ensures high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications;
- Collaborates with subcontractors, engineers, and other key team members to ensure project success;
- Identifies and resolves any on-site risks or issues, providing effective solutions that meet the needs of all parties involved;
- Maintains clear communicate with clients, managers, and various trades;
- Updates the Project Managers and Site Supervisors on progress of projects, reports any issues, and prepares daily progress logs with pictures and accurate documentation;
- Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a clean, organized work environment; and
- Manages and maintains Heartwood’s tools and equipment.
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Ancaster, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
