Requisition ID: 164983 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **Purpose** The incumbent is responsible for supporting the overall success of the GBM Canada AML Risk Program Management. As part of these efforts, the Manager under the director of their Senior Manager, will ensure timely and accurate execution of new initiative AML risk assessments, engage with key stakeholders on high priority risk initiatives, and support execution of the overall governance and oversight over GBM Canada AML program elements including GBM Canada AML Risk Steering Committee, metrics and reporting, execution of the Enterprise-Wide AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment (EMRA/ESRA), Issues Management, Metrics and procedures. **Accountabilities** Functional: - Drives the executions of new initiative AML and sanctions risk assessments, including engagement and collaboration with First Line and Second Line partners and the Initiative Sponsor, determination or existing controls, completion and tracking of Action Plans, record-keeping and tracking completion throughout lifecycle of the initiative, and QA testing - Contributes to effective governance and oversight over Issues Management, metrics and reporting and Third Party Risk Management process - Supports the execution of the EMRA/ESRA for GBM Canada in collaboration with key stakeholders from 1st and 2nd line - Develops, manages and tracks metrics and reporting to senior management including preparation and delivery of reports, communications, and presentations, as necessary, to keep all levels of management informed of key AML and sanctions compliance initiatives - Contributes to the development of procedural documents, as necessary, to support execution of program implementation processes - Helps lead key program initiatives for GBM Canada AML Risk and ensures effective ongoing reporting of progress and issues - Works with key stakeholders in Canada and globally across the First and Second lines of defense to ensure timely delivery and reporting on critical program execution efforts - Project-manages the delivery of assigned initiatives involving management-level stakeholders across multiple workstreams, as necessary, to deliver on management commitments related to regulatory, Internal Audit, and self-identified issues. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **Leadership** - Develops and maintain strong partnerships with First Line, Internal Audit, Technology, Data Governance Office, and other key stakeholders in connection with GBM Canada AML Risk Program, and works collaboratively across functional teams to drive results in accordance with stated timelines and commitments. - Establishes a high performance environment that reinforces both individual accountability and strong inter-group cooperation. - Empowers a collaborative approach to develop creative and strategic solutions, including streamlining processes and planning initiatives, where appropriate. **Education / Experience** - Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, economics, finance, or similar field - 3+ years of industry experience in compliance, relationship management, reporting, and AML Risk - Strong knowledge of Global Banking and Markets products and services preferred - Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, organization, project management and planning skills - Advanced stills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and PowerPoint - Proven ability to operate independently and take initiative in implementing program strategies - Proven excellence in execution of complex and demanding tasks under strict time pressures - Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills - Executive level presentation skills and professional writing capability - Possesses excellent organizational and administrative skills necessary to coordinate projects and working groups and oversee the maintenance of various compliance systems, databases and support documentation. Strong managerial, analytical, project management and planning skills. Solid judgment, strong negotiating skills, and a practical approach to implementation - including knowledge of Bank systems.
