**Job Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with project and service group documentation and sales proposal.
- Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ainsworth’s H&S Policy.
- Assist with site commissioning under the supervision of a BAS Technician 3 or 4.
- Review project contract plans and specifications, sales estimates, and take-off sheets.
- Design Building Automation Systems as per contract plans and specifications, including damper schedules, valve schedules, sequence of operations, bill of materials, etc.
- Prepares submittal documents, as-builts, commission documents, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Uphold company standards, policies, and procedures. Communicate and share resources to provide support to the construction team and service team.
- Assist project manager and service supervisor to ensure that comprehensive projects and related assignments are implemented, performed to design specifications, built to the prescribed quality, communicated, and reported in accordance.
- Perform field activities as required, such as field survey site meetings, etc.
- Assist the project team, service team, and sales team regarding all BAS-related work. This includes, but is not limited to proposals, studies, estimates, implementation, commissioning, etc. as required.
- Assist the project team and service team in developing and using tools, processes methodology and policy as it relates to the planning, implementation, and improvement of the Ainsworth services and products business.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of products and services that can be offered to our existing and prospective clients.
- Lead the engineering team in maintaining the highest level of technical competence and expertise and value-added solutions that will result in customer satisfaction while adhering to the company’s short and long term financial goals.
- Provide technical support to the project team and service team and support ongoing development and coordination of the company’s engineering standards, policies, procedures, monitoring and reporting.
**Qualifications**:
- Valid Driver’s license and the ability to be insured by Ainsworth.
- Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth’s clients.
- Fluent in English - both written and oral. The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation. Graduate of Post-Secondary technical or engineering program.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, including Visio or Script programming software.
- Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident.
- Four-year college/university degree, two-year/three-year post-secondary engineering technology or applied science program, and/or equivalent trade/field experience and eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
**Abilities required**
- Light physical duties, the willingness to work in an office environment and to keep work area clean and tidy.
- Ability to perform routine tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
- Some travel may be requested from time to time. Ainsworth will reimburse travel expenses including mileage for driving.
