**Working for the Department**

The Department of Physical Therapy is part of the University of Alberta Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, the only free-standing faculty of its kind in North America. Housed in historic Corbett Hall in Edmonton, the Department of Physical Therapy has expanded to include a satellite program at the University of Calgary Downtown Campus in Calgary. Over the course of its 50-year history, the Department has consistently been recognized for professional, scholarly, and academic excellence, and has established a reputation as one of the premier Physical Therapy programs in North America.

**Position**

The Clinical Research Coordinator must hold an active license as a regulated healthcare professional in Alberta (Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, Physician, or Registered Nurse). Under the direction of the principal investigator, the coordinator will be responsible for the management and administration of the CIHR-funded GLA:D Back program in publicly funded Primary Care Networks in Alberta. This includes triaging appropriate participants into the GLA:D Back program, educating primary care clinicians regarding appropriate referrals to the GLA:D Back program, managing the research database, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and training research assistants.

**Duties**
- Project Planning & Implementation_
- Conducts literature reviews and environmental scans.
- Evaluates research and evaluation project initiatives.
- Grants & Ethics Support_
- Data Collection & Evaluation_
- Develops data collection tools and assists the project team with data collection
- Coordinate and/or participate in committees, task groups, and teams as appropriate.
- Coordinates and chairs the GLA:D Back advisory board and supports intermediaries, sponsors, and partners.
- Document/Materials Development_
- Prepares knowledge translation and dissemination products including research posters, PowerPoint presentations, abstracts, and research reports.
- Develop and coordinate the program newsletter including content collection and writing, editing, and distribution.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred (e.g., nursing,
medicine, physical therapy, rehabilitation science).
- Active licensure with a regulated healthcare profession in Alberta (ex. College of Chiropractors of Alberta, College of Physiotherapists of Alberta, College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Alberta, or College of Registered Nurses of Alberta).
- Trained as a GLA:D Back Clinician.
- Minimum 10 years of clinical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination in a research environment.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in collaborative, interdisciplinary, or intersectional project work.
- Experience working with research implementation and evaluation methods including research design, selecting measures, designing surveys, data collection, data analyses, data dissemination, manuscript preparation, and submission.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to influence a broad and diverse range of stakeholders through effective relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills including a strong ability to demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
