Reporting to the Food and Beverage Service Manager/Executive Chef. The Banquet Captain/Supervisor is present on the floor. The Banquet Captain/Supervisor is responsible for the coaching, counselling the staff while fostering a strong relationship with the client. Also responsible for recognition and discipline of staff and for providing exceptional outcomes on functions.

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the smooth daily operation of the banquet department as well as all bar services
- Responsible for the daily operation by managing the floor
- Assists in coordinating the selection, training and development of all banquet staff
- Assists in scheduling and supervising all banquet bartenders/servers within the budgeted guidelines
- Organizes and coordinates function room set-ups and food and beverage service
- Conducts frequent inspections of banquet facilities and equipment, reporting deficiencies to supervisor
- Maintain a liaison with convener and coordinator before, during and after all services to ensure all needs are exceeded
- Maintain and ensure that all function information is kept up to date with respect to all changes and or revisions
- Assist in the coordination of timing and additional/revised services with the chef on the execution of meal services for all catered functions
- Assists in the billing of banquet/convention services
- Other duties as assigned
