**Job Scope**:
The Tool Room Supervisor supervises and schedules the daily activities of the Tool Room. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management, conflict resolution, team building, coaching and as well as communicating with other shift supervisors. The foundation of this role is to lead the team by modelling superior behaviour, attitude and performance, based on the Company's Core Values.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise, coordinate and schedule activities of workers; ensuring subordinates clock into correct jobs and in/out of the building. Make corrections to database when required
- Directly oversee daily operations
- Schedule subordinates vacation time to avoid resource issues
- Coordinate workloads to meet schedules and timelines in conjunctions with other units and departments
- Responsible for ensuring workers are trained in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure worker competency
- Mentor and coach to ensure full performance potential
- Set performance goals and objectives and conduct performance reviews
- Establish training needs and ensure job competency of workers
- Ensure Company policy and procedures are communicated to workers, followed and enforced
- Resolve work issues and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, recruitment and promotions
- Perform duties of supervisor and worker as stated in the OHSA
- Participate in and attend cross-functional meetings
- Lead project-related work groups to troubleshoot issues etc.
- Initiate, monitor, and follow up work orders as required
- Monitor and close Tool Maintenance Requests as required
- Assist with new product launches
- Coordinate NCR investigations and corrective action follow-up when required
- Set up and complete disposition activities on NCR’d product /material in a timely fashion
- Sign and complete material and supply requisitions
- Network with all shift supervisors as required
- Ensure recycling procedures are understood and are followed
- Initiate corrective / preventive action requests when required
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of written procedures
- Review Job History Reports and explain discrepancies

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum five years of experience as a Tool Maker and/or Machinist.
- Inter provincial trade certification
- Experience in automotive production
- Understanding and experience working with Quality Management Systems based on the TS16949 quality specification
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety acts and regulations
- Able to read, interpret and understand complicated blueprints including GD&T
- Proficient use of crane and forklift
- Experience in the safe operation of a variety of presses
- Analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member to support company objectives and multiple work assignments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of PC software packages such as Word
- Computer Literacy
- Valid drivers license

**Working Conditions**:

- Plant floor and office environment
- Must wear appropriate safety equipment
- Overtime may be required
- May require some heavy lifting up to 22 kg (50 lbs.)
