**About the role**
- As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for:

- Authoring documentation such as maintenance manuals, operation manuals, user manuals, service bulletins, and parts lists in a structured technical content environment using XML
- Reviewing and interpreting engineering documentation such as engineering drawings, 3D models, test specifications and much more for various electrical and mechanical equipment
- Meeting quality, cost and schedule requirements for assigned projects
- Participating in a team environment focused on innovation, efficient work processes and customer satisfaction.

**What you bring to the role**
- At least 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role authoring structured technical content in XML/SGML using tools such as Arbortext Editor or Oxygen.
- Experience authoring in S1000D and knowledge of the S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications
- Ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively in order to meet deadlines
- Superior attention to detail, the ability to follow set procedures, and a desire for accuracy in job performance
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearance.

**Additional skills desired for the role**
- Experience with Canadian Armed Forces technical publications and format
- Experience in a hands-on capacity in a military equipment maintenance environment
- Experience authoring in Simplified English.
