Position Overview
The person is responsible for performing ECGs and obtaining blood samples from patients by venipuncture or micro methods; ensuring all necessary documentation and processing of patient files is complete. Establishing and maintaining good relations with patients and maintaining service quality.
This position will be mainly dedicated to Emergency and, occasionally to in-patients.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum of one year experience in: performing ECGs and obtaining blood samples by venipuncture or micro methods;
- Medical Laboratory Assistant / Technician Certificate or equivalent
- Member of the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT), an asset.
- Experienced in working in hectic ED environment is preferred
- Effective time management.
- Customer service oriented approach.
- Demonstrated use of infection control practices related to work.
- Effective communication in both official languages, French and English.
TEMPORARY FULL-TIME POSITION FOR MINIMUM 6 MONTHS
Criminal Check
**As a pre-condition of employment**:
All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
