Job Reports To: Producer, Digital Programming

**Key Activities**:

- Reporting to the Producer, Digital Programming, this role collaborates with artistic teams to create innovative digital programming that engages audiences and promotes the performing arts experience.

The Associate Producer acts as the technical producer for live-streamed performances and on-demand programming such as podcasts and video interviews. They work directly with artistic programmers and their Digital Engagement colleagues to research, direct video/photo shoots, and execute comprehensive video production, from initial recording to final editing.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Collaborates with artistic teams to produce original digital programming intended to engage and inform audiences, promotes the performing arts experience and supports the growth of the performing arts sector through the use of video media;
- Cooperates with the broader Digital Engagement team to develop new, original audio and visual content by conducting research, leading video/photo shoots, executing video production and final editing;
- Act as the technical producer for live-streamed performances from the National Arts Centre’s stages;
- Collaborate with in-house and external partners to produce broadcast-ready programming;
- Responsible for the production, testing, troubleshooting and scheduling of content necessary for livestreams using a variety of existing and emerging platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo;
- Records and edits audio and video content to appear on NAC’s digital platforms and social media channels;
- Records and edits podcasts, video interviews, develops content schedules, collects assets, updates templates, circulates proofs and outputs content;
- Adapts pre-existing video content or assets to various formats across multiple promotional channels;
- Coordinates the production of serial content with the use of established templates;
- Shares best-practices in video storytelling with colleagues leading marcom activities;
- Contributes as a photographer to capture photos from various events and activities at the NAC.

**Skill Requirements**:

- College diploma in animation, multimedia, graphic design or digital media or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in videography and post-production;
- Strong visual design sensibility and previous experience producing live-streams;
- Advanced skills in audio and video production and post-production hardware and software like Adobe Creative Suite: Audition, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder;
- Extensive experience with video production equipment: DSLR, video cameras, live production switchers, facility video routing and management;
- Extensive experience with networked digital audio mixers, compression, EQ, effects processors, audio recording techniques for studio and field, multi-track and waveform editing;
- Advanced technical skills for video editing, production and distribution on social platforms;
- Flexible and adaptable to new products, servers and systems;
- Excellent project management skills with strong problem-solving and solution-finding skills;
- Ability to identify, communicate and mitigate risk to ensure project success;
- A proactive approach to undertaking complex work and contributing as a member of the overall team;
