Early Learning Assistant
TERM
Summary : Working under the direction of the Early Learning Supervisor, the Early Learning Assistant (Extended Day Program) assists in the provision of childcare to students after school (including professional activity day and school break periods); enhancing child-based play; encouraging and guiding, and modeling appropriate behaviour techniques. Performs other duties to support the overall objectives and goals of the program. A working knowledge of English is required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a High School diploma, and;
- Minimum one (1) year post-secondary experience providing childcare to school age children in a group setting;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Sign language would be considered an asset.
- Current First Aid certification/CPR Level C is required.
- Police Record Check for the Vulnerable sector, valid within the last 6 months is required upon hire.

As a condition of employment, all new employees will be required to submit a Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector and proof of completion of the Mandatory Workplace Violence and Harassment Training and Working Alone Training prior to their start date with the OCDSB.
