**Position Overview**

The Strategy & Development Analyst will partner with the VP, Strategy & Development for Ash Grove in providing strategic planning and development support for major capital expenditures, acquisitions and any other key projects and strategic initiatives assigned. Since Ash Grove’s inception, capital investments and acquisitions have been a key driver of growth for the company. This position will work in close cooperation with senior leadership team, while playing a critical role in driving value for Ash Grove.

**What you'll be contributing**:
Strategic Planning
- Assist in the development of the long-term strategic and sustainability plans for Ash Grove
- Support the strategic planning process by assisting with organizing and facilitating workshops, working with Regional management teams to hone their strategic plans and building action plans across Ash Grove’s businesses
- Analyze markets and growth opportunities (internal and external)
- Collaborate with members of the senior leadership team on cross-functional projects

Major Capital Expenditure Projects
- Work with Regional management teams to help build business cases for major capital expenditure projects and other key strategic initiatives
- Assist in the development of capital expenditure proposals and financial models
- Draft white papers, presentations, and other deliverables for senior leadership
- Work with finance, legal, and other departments to help support capital expenditure proposals

Mergers and Acquisitions
- Assist in managing the end-to-end acquisition process, including business assessment, valuation, contract negotiation, integration planning and post-closing issue resolution
- Build analytical models and perform financial analysis to value acquisition opportunities
- Support with the business and financial due diligence processes on acquisitions and divestitures
- Other duties as assigned

**What you'll need to be successful**:

- Technical skills in the areas of finance and accounting
- Interpersonal and relationship skills
- Demonstrated project management capabilities for large and multidisciplinary projects requiring prioritization and execution skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Listening skills
- Strategic thinking and high business acumen
- Action-orientation and drive for results
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments
- Travel required up to 25% (both national and international if needed)

**Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience, with corporate development, consulting, investment banking or private equity experience highly preferred
- Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, with strengths in the areas of strategic thinking, financial modeling, business proposal writing, assessing business risk and displaying the ingenuity and tenacity to help Ash Grove grow and meet its sustainability targets

**Education**
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field, MBA a plus
