Maintenance Technician

**Job Summary**
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Maintains inventories of equipment spare parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine total preventive maintenance.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with company 5S policy.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health.
- Ability to independently solve basic problems that may arise on the job
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems in day to day tasks for the job.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work.
- Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work with other staff members to get a particular job completed.
- Ability to work in various areas of the building and perform many different functions to keep the building in good standing.
- Keep record of maintenance activities to track the lifespan of equipment. When equipment breakdown continues too frequently after repeated fixing, it will need to be replaced.
- Works well in a team environment and also willing to learn and share knowledge & open to training as required to meet the companies needs.

**Education and Experience**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- High awareness for safety requirements
- Good communication skills
- 3-5 year’s experience in a manufacturing facility
- Comfortable working with power tools
- Welding experience, will be beneficial

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
